Tours, Camps and Adventures

Welcome to Tuscany!

We are excited to share the details for this year's cycling tours. Our Tuscany tour was a huge success last year and we can't wait to return. Our Florence based partner, Marco Vignoli will lead us on another excursion along the backroads of Tuscany and Chianti. In addition to Italy, we have added a tour in Provence, France. Our Provence tour guide, Kim Gagne' has more than 20 years experience leading rides in France and has spent most of her adult years in the wine business. She's lived in France and is fluent in the language. I've known Kim for nearly 20 years so I can assure you we are in very good hands. These two tours are scheduled back to back giving you the opportunity to choose one or combine them both for the ultimate European cycling adventure. You are welcome to bring your own bike or arrange for us to have one waiting for you upon your arrival. All you need to do is show up and be ready to ride, dine, drink wine and enjoy the time of your life. We hope you will join us. Space is limited on both tours so be sure to reserve your spot early by contacting duane@trifiniti.com. We will accept registration on a first come basis with receipt of your $500 deposit.

Cycle Provence France

September 17-23, 2011

Provence

This year Trifiniti and Journeys in Wine offer you the opportunity to cycle through Provence, one of France's most exquisite regions, where you will appreciate firsthand why the French are known for their joie de vivre and why the Tour de France always has stages through this area.

Kim Gagne', our tour creator and guide, has been leading exclusive bike and wine tours in France for over 20 years and will show you an intimate view of the region that few tourists get to see on their own.

Provence

Wind through this beautiful landscape to visit famous hilltop villages, colorful market towns, and ancient architecture of this amazing corner of France. Enjoy the great wines of this appellation while tasting in ancient cellars and indulging in the delicious and healthy Provencal cuisine!

We'll enjoy private tours of wineries and cheese farms, amazing Italian cuisine, spectacular historical architectural and miles of gently rolling hills that will provide a lifetime of memories, not the mention the wonderful hospitality and passion of the Italian people.

Tuscany

Our rides will follow portions of the historical routes of the Tour de France, including climbing up the Mont Ventoux, or simply descending it, if you prefer! A well-earned lunch will be waiting for you to indulge in at the end.

Other highlights include exploring the stunning artists' village of Gordes, riding through countryside made famous by Peter Mayle in his novel, A Year in Provence, and discovering ancient Roman ruins, You choose how hard and far you want to ride. After all, this is your vacation.

Tuscany Rides Again!

September 24 - 30, 2011

Tuscany

Join us for a cycling adventure of a lifetime in Italy's famous Tuscany and Chianti regions. Our Florence based partner, Marco Vignoli of  We Bike Tuscany, will guide us again on the beautiful back roads along rolling vineyards in some of the most enchanted areas in all of Europe. If you're a real cycling enthusiast looking to challenge yourself, you will be rewarded with a biking experience like no other as you discover a magical and very special part of the region that (for now at least) remains somewhat "hidden." This is the Maremma, a biker's paradise,

Tuscany
a wine and food-lover's paradise -- and it's where we begin our adventure. Near the coast of southern Tuscany, with the sapphire blue Mediterranean always in view, you'll pedal through gorgeous countryside, perhaps alongside professional cyclists as they train for the Giro d'Italia or Tour de France (this is also international training ground). Of course for us, it's not all work. We'll stop occasionally to visit a winery and sample some of the most renown reds of Italy, if not the world (optional stops include Ornellaia and Sassicaia). In the evening, dine in our favorite restaurants of the area. On Day 3 you'll rack up the miles as we transfer to the Val d'Orcia. The "Terra di Siena" with its lone cypresses, lunar landscape and golden ochre is classic Tuscany. Not so "hidden" as the Maremma, perhaps, but certainly not to be missed. And our rides will be no less challenging as we we bike one-of-a-kind routes to the enchanting medievalal villages of Pienza, Montalcino and Bagno Vignoni, to name just a few. On Day 6 another transfer ride takes us to the lush green countryside of Chianti with its vineyards, olive groves and castles dotting the hills. Winding down for our final day, we pedal a more relaxed pace into Florence, reaching the finish line at Piazzale Michelangelo.
Tuscany
The breathtaking view of the city will be the background for our group photo and a congratulatory glass of spumante. You've earned it! Your hosts, Marco and Coach D will take care of all the details for hotels, meals, cycling route maps and ride support. Accommodations will be first rate.
